My name is Wouter Masselink, born on January 29, 1992, in Amsterdam and raised in Lelystad. Although my childhood had its challenges, one thing I’m truly grateful for is the creativity I inherited from my parents. That creativity found its way into many forms — but photography always stood out.
When I was just 12 years old, my father took me to a local photography club. That experience introduced me early on to the technical side of photography — I quickly learned what ISO values, shutter speeds, and F-stops meant, and how they shaped the image I wanted to capture.
In high school, I experimented with making videos on YouTube. I didn’t stick with it for long, and around the same time, my father stepped away from photography as well. Slowly, I did too.
As I got older, photography moved into the background. Life took over — the birth of my eldest son, moving to a larger home, and then welcoming our second son. My focus was on my family, as it should be.
Now that family life has become more settled, I feel my creative drive resurfacing stronger than ever. My passion for photography and filming — whether it’s people, animals, or nature — is back. I look at the world differently now. I see potential in everyday moments and the opportunity to turn them into something meaningful.
The hunger to explore new perspectives keeps me learning and growing every day. Especially when it comes to editing — I’m completely self-taught and love diving into new techniques and digital tools to push my work further.
The Covid-19 period in 2020 gave me the space to reconnect with this passion, to grow it, and ultimately decide to pursue it professionally.
Feel free to get in touch — I’d be happy to bring your ideas to life.
